This OSB manufacturing plant in Texas runs 24/7 365 days a year. It has 6 acres under a production area with a roof that goes up to 80 feet. The machinery is massive, reaching 3 and 4 stories in places. There are walkways around and through the machinery that workers us to maintain and clean the equipment. There is also a lot of Forklift traffic along with workers on bicycles.
Situation
- Current lighting is dated and failing
- Lighting is uneven due to poorly placed lighting
- Energy cost was extremely high
Solution
We started by flooding the areas with our Delta 255W LED Fixtures. This provided good even lighting for foot, bicycle and forklifts traffic. We also placed Vapour Proof LED Fixtures under and within the machinery to provide maintenance workers with safe and adequate lighting. OSB manufacturing generates a lot of dust so Vapor Proof fixtures are a must.
