Port of Houston
The existing lighting in this area lighted was lit by a mixture of 250 sodium and metal halide fixtures 300w. These lights were running 24 hours per day at a cost of .6 cents per hour allowing call a cost of maintenance for one year the expenditure in this building per year was approximately $47,000 per annum
We replaced the 250 existing fixtures with 150 LED fixture x 100w Venus VP’s Using the same calculations for energy and hours used as per the existing lights to be replace the cost per year allowing for the reduction in the number of fixtures reduction of the power required it’s projected that $8,000 per annum. This is a payback at 1.96 years this Excluding the installation cost.
Adding $5,200 per year to the energy savings in the passed two years of this project being completed there has been no cost for maintenance
A Konecranes project
Constellation Lighting has been working at the Port of Houston Terminals with management and engineering designing and developing LED Light fixtures for the ship-to-shore cranes namely Boom Portal Beams and Trolley which were the first LED light systems designed for this particular application in any port in the USA at the time.
In 2012, Constellation re-fitted Konecranes with our LED lighting systems taking them from 20 sodium lights to 10 LED fixtures. We have, since that time continued developing and improving upon these systems improving the light range using the latest LED and Lens technology. The Alpha is designed withstand the rigors challenging any piece of equipment in proximity to a seaport.
The quality of our lights is second to none. Over 10 years, Constellation has never sent a bill for maintenance or repair for our lights to the Port of Houston Due to our warranty programs.
To date, Constellation lighting has supplied many LED fixtures to the Port of Houston and continues to install our Alpha Series lighting systems at all Port of Houston facilities.
